Head of the new Afghan interim government Hamid Karzai has retracted his words about granting general amnesty to Taliban Supreme Commander Mulla Muhammad Omar owing to the US pressure, observed the BBC on Friday.He said Mulla Omar is a fugitive and criminal who will be dealt with as per the law of Afghanistan.

Karzai denied the reports that he has offered general amnesty to Mulla Omar even if he renounces terrorism. He confirmed that the Taliban have started surrendering their weapons.
He said he asked Mulla Omar to give up terrorism but that did not happen and the deadline has passed.
