Looking closer at the commitments of traders report this week it doesn't show commercial short positions increasing like I thought. So I think Im wrong about SA mines selling forward.

Commercials reduced both long and short positions, but since they took off more longs than shorts it leaves it slightly net short. I think there is more a lack of interest than anything else with the stock market ramping.

The current position is 2500 contracts net short which is about $68 M worth. For comparison CSCO traded $396 Bln in stock yesterday alone.
