Thank you for your post. It seems to me that some people like lables. If you say Germans are hard working, then your immdiately labled+ as Nazi. What is wrong? Don't you teach your schoold kids tolorance? Don't they know US and Germany have been allies for 50 years, and the war is over?

The collapse of Berlin Wall was the triumph of US foreign policy. United Germany is the bitter fruit of that triumph. It maybe hard
now, but they will make it.
Russia is another great country, now momenterily troubled, but so is INTEL!! Soon it will raise again. Nationlism has repalced communism! Historically, Russian appetite for other people's land has known no limits. Noone is fooled by their adheriance to NATO. They still have their eyes on Balakans which they consider their buffer zone with the West.
Long before United States existed, the only power in Europe that were able to contain the Russians were Hohenstauffens and Habsburgs of Austo-Hungerian Empire, the federation of German States. Given that United States can't directly maintain troops in Germany becasue of the cost and other reasons, then the US foregin policy writers decided that it is good to build Germany as a deterrent against Russia. Who else in Europe could have taken the place of Germany. Italy, and France are out of question for the reason we all know. British as usual are sitting on the fenece.
