You obviously misunderstood what I was referring to. I am speaking of the domestic changes to law enforcement rules. I worry that some of them are ill considered and may not stand up to constitutional scrutiny. I have no major problem with the foreign tribunals, and even if I did, the AG is not the one who would be conducting them. However, it would probably be a good idea to cross some t's and dot some i's on those as well, i.e. some sort of formal declaration by Congress that we are at war with those individuals, and developing procedures that are up to American standards. In the long run, we are much better off if the process is perceived as fair.

I am also, along with many others, puzzled as to why the AG was so reluctant to use government resources to look into the history of gun purchases of the domestic detainees. It does make it seem like their right to bear arms is more important to him than their freedom of speech, freedom of association, habeas corpus, etc.
