Roebear, the weather ...

Just thought I'd mention that last year was warm here. Coldest and only briefly was just a tad warmer than -30 F. Very unusual. All the cold stayed north and east, pretty much for the entire winter. Here is Fairbanks area.

We just had a very cool Oct. Not so much extreme lows, but the norm was always norm or colder. Nov/Dec more of the same. It has been -30 F and colder for lows for some time now. Much colder than the norm for this time of year, but of course well within the range of possibilities.

More of the same is predicted. Little snow either.

I've wondered how our weather patterns factor in with the lower 48. Any quick comment?

The cold makes for beautiful nights, especially if we get some aurora action.
