2- KLEINER ATTACKS ARAB MEMBERS OF KNESSET

MK Kleiner: If Tibi and Barakeh's threats of revolt are carried out they
will have many voters in refugee camps and Orr Commissions

Aaron Lerner Date: 9 December 2001

The following is IMRA's translation of a press release issued by Herut
Chairman MK Michael Kleiner:

8 December 2001

Herut Chairman MK Michael Kleiner fiercely attacked the threat of Arab MKs
Tibi and Barakeh that there will be an Arab revolt if Arafat is killed.
"The threats of Tibi and Barakeh of an Arab revolt if Arafat is killed point
the Government of Israel in the right direction. By the "Tibi-Barakeh
index" our enemies are in panic and pressured by the idea of Arafat being
killed and thus this is exactly what the Government of Israel should do"
said Kleiner.

According to Kleiner, it should be made clear to Tibi and Barakeh that if
they carry out their threats that they will have many voters in refugee
camps outside of Israel and many Orr Commissions.

[IMRA: MK Kleiner explained this morning on Israel Radio that the action
being investigated by the Orr Commission was a revolt of Israeli Arabs that
ended in the deaths of Israeli Arabs who participated in the revolt and were
shot by police in self defense. He expected similar results if the Israeli
Arabs revolt again.]
