Hello everybody, I apologize for misleading you. The company VSNX is really selling face recognition systems. There are a couple of problems only. One is that it would take on the average about five minutes with the hardware they used to match a criminal's fingerprints with some prior record. (This assumes a data base of about 150 million finger prints.) Here is one of the great big volume future uses of high speed CPUs! (Buy INTC?). Another problem is that the error rate is said to be "less than " 1 %. We wouldn't mind only catching 99% + of the criminals but the number of innocent people who would have to spend a day explaining their guiltlessness to the police would be too great to implement such a thing AS IT IS TODAY. They didn't say whether the error rate is almost 1 % or down close to 0.1 % etc. More work needs to be done on that.
