What you didn't note in Ford warning is that the warning was based on rapidly expanding credit losses. The consumer is getting hurt and it's starting to show. Of course, this could be a Ford only problem, but I think not. In other words, their warning did not have to do with sales, which we know were significant, but trying to recover the principal on yesterday's sales. This has the potential to cause the next shoe to drop.
