Well, the point about the kitchen is that the wood comes in random strips. When you walk in the front door if you keep going straight you are in the kitchen. So if we decide to make the kitchen match the foyer, which I think would look nice, if we cut all the wood even then it will be squared off forever, instead of having a continuous effect. Plus I don't know if we could get it to come out even if the times were far apart.

I don't guess it would be that noticable if we put a matching threshold between the rooms.
