Elmer, it's not that simple. AMD getting the design win would have given them a lot of credibility. If X-Box becomes a success, guess who gets credit for supplying the brains of this highly popular set-top box (and I'm not talking about mind-share to the end-user - they don't care about the CPU in their console system; I am talking about among the industry)? AMD could easily set aside fab space to manufacture .18u 5 years in the future. At the cost they sell some of their CPUs, I'm sure that a million or so X-Box processors per quarter would do them good. wbmw
