OT, I don't mean to kick Fisk when he's down (well, not unduly), but any "war correspondent" worth his salt would never write such a self-demeaning piece. ("registered a moment ... when a tall boy building sandcastles in the playground had hit me on the head....") Suddenly the story is Fisk's bloody forehead and his schoolboy terrors.
