I'm not sure what the maximum data transfer rate of the PCI bus is, but I agree that it's plenty fast for 30fps. The data rate coming off the DVD drive will always be fast enough for 30 fps -- the bottleneck is in the MPEG2 decoder, as you probably already know. Maybe someone can shed some light on Ultra/Fast DVDs. It's slower than a gigahertz! By the way, your screen name cracks me up -- CUBE owners know about giga-hurts!
