JIm: "Processor of the year, again, and again and again.... And the public still buys P4s..." Makes one wonder just exactly why the OEM distribution channels in North America respond inversely with Athy's success, particularly when not only has the Athlon been acclaimed year after year as "processor of the year" but its significantly less expensive than its performance equivalent competitor offering...For example, an Athlon XP 1800+ which performs at least as well (probably better) as a 2.0 MHz P4 is about half the price of the equivalent performing P4...Seems there may be some interference factor (not mentioning what that might be)impeding the playing out of normal laws of economics in the North American marketplace...
