Currently I try to figure out what other posters say about the "premature" January effect. I did make some observations which show that this does not hold for likely tax loss sellers so like 1999, and we had a nice tech rallye going which resembles a bit the 1999 gains it is fair to assume that there are a lot of tax loss sellers left.

Rearding the scan criteria: I found a post from you on last years thread which sums it up nicely. Message 15298045

This year a lot more stocks are trading below 1 partly because the nasdaq declared this delisting hiatus (and they only delisted some smaller companies due to capitalisation/NTA criteria). This will end in January 2002 and could possibly hurt the performance of sub $1 stocks...
