Jerome, I agree with you on the details. Prior to 9/11 this would have had me back in the streets in my 60's protest garb. However, if this proves to have been the only way availbable at the time of dealing with probable additional terrorism, i am willing to pay the price or I guess what i am really saying is that i am willing for the detainees to the pay price. If it turns out to have been just a wild goose chase I will feel shame for myself for having written the above and for my country which defiled its principles. I still have that naive faith in our leaders that they wouldnt do such a thing. I have been burned before in my lifetime: 1. Warren Commission whitewash 2. LBJ Gulf of Tonkin 3. nixon watergate 4. Ford in pardoning nixon 5. Reagan in iran contra 6. Clinton lying about everything I am sure i missed a few. Hope i dont have to add Bush/Ashcroft to that list. mike
