Dick Cheney files for unemployment compensation....

In testimony before a sympathetic Republican committee, Dick Cheney explained his decision to file for unemployment.

He said, "I haven't done a darn thing since being sworn in bsides being sworn at by Haliburton shareholders for buying the Dressler Company" and "John Nance Gardner had it right when he said being Vice President wasn't worth a bucket of warm spit".

Some Republican Senators replied that doing absolutely nothing, "was indeed a very tough job, and perhaps a raise would be in order".... and..."perhaps the secret service should take him to Des Moines, Iowa, where he could hide out be certain of not being recognized". Cheney replied, "Do you know how hard it is to get a good meal in Des Moines?" and so the committee adjourned with only Cheney's raise approved.
