Was watching CNN Business news last night. Had the boss from Wind River Europe on. It seems that WR has developed the software that will automatically bring home the space shuttle astronauts in the event of an emergency. Something called the "lifeboat." Everybody jumps in, they push one button, it detaches from the mother ship, jettisons itself to a precise reentry point, enters earth's atmosphere, deploys an air-foil parachute and lands itself right on Edwards Air Force Base runway. The technology was definitely wowing the interviewer. Pretty high-profile stuff. Not the same as "visibility" I guess. AM
