Terry, The word I got is that Buffett bought the votes for the BCS and Heisman. Either him or Johnnie Carson. <VBG>

I think Nebraska is terrific and had a great season, ex one game where they were plucked, stuffed and baked. This will be the first time ever that a team not only lost its last game, but was stomped into the ground in its last game, and went to the BCS Championship.

I don't see any rationale for picking them ahead of Oregon, Illinois or even Maryland. True, the Ducks didn't look like world beaters against Oregon State, but OSU was a tough team that hit its stride very late in the season.

That being said, I think Nebraska could beat Miami. True, if they allow passes to go unmolested again, they will be in deep kimshee. But I'll bet they've been working on pass defense every day since the Colorado defeat. And they are a coachable, talented team.
