What gets me is, the same folks who decry the 1982 Sabra and Chatilla massacre as a horrible war crime, never even bother to indict Elie Hobeicka, the commander of the Phalangist troops who committed it.

No, what gets you is that an Israeli is under fire. End of story.

The Phalangists are not lauded in the American press for their virtue. The Phalangists are not receiving billions of dollars in annual aid from America. Elie Hobiecka is not welcomed in the U.S. as a statesman as Sharon is. It is particularly vulgar to watch American politicians pander to the Israeli lobby by taking turns snubbing Arafat for "terrorism" while simultaneously greeting Sharon as a statesman.
