Saturday nite was the annual boat parade in the main channel. We expected 4 yacht clubs but 6 showed up plus a lot of other boaters. Probably a couple hundred boats. No surprise that most of them had a red, white and blue motif. The best parade I've seen there. It was in the 80s during the day because of the Santa Ana winds we have right now so most were without jackets on. Just beautiful. Yesterday, the winds kicked up with a vengeance - 70 Kt gusts. Some fools went out with full sails only to limp back in with ripped sails. Saw 3 crippled boats. Probably many more. The radio was alive with all the casualties calling for help.
