Re:
"Bash away all you want to"
This is where you and I differ, and in my opinion where the demos and repubs differ. To me you can "bash away all you want" if you are being honest with your criticism.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (Who decides what is 'honest'? I'd rather leave it up to the public to decide, after all, an 'informed citizenry' is the heart of successful democracy).
To most demos this is not a concern. If it is your average joe-blow that lies to make his point I don't care, but when our politicians lie to make their point it is not ok.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Agreed. Not 'OK', but nearly ALL politicians lie - IMO. They divert attention, they distort, they manipulate opinion, they basicly try to craft their own self-serving worldview, and then 'sell' it to the public.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> No surprise there.
Particularly when it is about one's character. I have asked at least one demo poster here if it is ok to lie to make your point and they said it was fine.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Under most circumstance, in the presence of free and open debate though, truth will ultimately prevail. (Sometimes though - especially when free speech is restricted - truth can take generations to come out of the shadows.)
That seems weird to me, but it does explain why Clinton's escapades were ok with so many of them because lying is no big deal. To many (including Clinton imo) it is an accepted way to communicate. |
