O'Reilly, O'Leary. Whatever his name is, Tech certainly underachieved this year. I think they were even #1 in one of the pre-season polls (OK, they don't mean a hell of a lot). But Tech was supposed to be the team to dethrone FSU. This guy doesn't appear to fit with Rockne, Leahy, Parseghian, Devine, and Holtz; he'll probably take his place along side Davie, Faust and Hugh Devore.

I was a bit surprised by a quote attributed to the AD (Kevin White?). He said something to the effect that, when it comes to football players, ND's admission standards are not all that tough. He was responding to a question about whether ND could still compete for recruits with the likes of FSU, etc. Foot in mouth? Not exactly Moose Krause. I think the Irish are in for more tough times.

The worst AD in the country is the guy at Rutgers. A pure political appointment and as unathletic a nerd as you'll ever see. And from the way it was reported that he fired the last basketball coach, no spine, either.
