Yes and ouch. If you have a large area to do in the same color you can't beat them. Buy the 5 gallon bucket of paint and go for it. You have to get a rhythm going so you don't overload the roller.

Now on clean up, especially with the long hose you can loose a gallon of paint if you don't take your time. Plus there is a lot of flushing of everything. I wouldn't use one for a room but for several rooms of the same color or an outside job it does save time.
