Uncle Frank
"Some use covered calls to generate an income stream from a highly appreciated core holding without risking triggering a taxable event,"

This is the one of my objectives, but another was to get called on some of my tech holdings (after a nice strike price increase) and diversify into other nontech holdings.

I have enough losses from the last 12 months not to worry about tax consequences.

Dan D has provided some excellent ideas I will consider and give my plan some more thought.

I have written about 12 covered call trades and have been fortunate to buy them back with a net profit of about $15K before taxes. I have been lucky and now I was trying to be more deliberate and apply so quantifiable logic to selecting which options to sell on my holdings.

Thanks for the assistance
