Could you help me on the pro's and con's of a shelf registration as opposed to a straight out underwriter deal for the shares being issued all at once. If my understanding is correct, the shelf registration is good for two years and allows them to issue them "when" market conditions seem to be positive for the company(if this ever occurs). I would like to think that they are merely getting this registration in place for some positive news...one can dream and hope that is the case.
