andreas, thanks for looking up the info on Intel's IAG group revenues, which shows they would need to grow revenues 30% to get back to their peak.

Ain't that the truth! A quarter extra delay for the Palomino dropped AMD's market share.

<I wonder how and if the situation will change next quarter with the arrival of Northwood and hopefully new XP speedgrades.>

I have a feeling that the overall computer industry will be bad in Q1, except for the "after Christmas" sales. I expect that there's more chance of turning a profit in Q4 than in Q1, because Intel probably has 200 or 300 more MHz coming online in Q1.

The fact that AMD expects a return to profit in Q2 tells me that AMD expects to have higher clock-rate TBred's flowing off the line early enough in Q2 to catch up and overtake Intel's slight advantage in Q1.
