Dude. I thought every network card and every modem ever made had to have a MAC address. You are blowin' my mind. You mean i could have HID all this time ...!!! (Just kidding)...I don't think you can NOT have a MAC address...I thought that was some kind of SEC...or FCC ..OR FTC requirement... (or whoever the hell they are)...FBI maybe...LOL..(I swear it's burned in to the card when they make them...so they can track every Modem ever made.)
