Yes, Zabaco is a very nice zin, especially for the money, usually we can get in norcal for 8 or 9 bucks. For truly great zins though, you must up the ante to over $20 and sometimes $30. These mostly old vine wines can be very difficult to find as they are limited in production and under allocation. Try Ridge Geyserville or Pagani Ranch, Ravenswood Old Hill, Monte Rosso or Teldeschi vinyards. There are many others. For the last word on zinfandel, check out the web site of ZAP, Zinfandel Advocates and Producers, zinfandel.org At the end of January they have a zinfandel tasting at Fort Mason in San Francisco featuring over 250 wineries, each pouring several different wines. Last year 7-8,000 people attended. Ahhh wine, doing DD is so wonderful.
