YUKOS Reports Higher Oil Exports In Q3, 2001

Russian oil company YUKOS exported 7.2 million tons of oil (or 53 million barrels) in the third quarter of 2001, which is 20.8 per cent more than in the third quarter last year. The company's press service reported that the volume of exports in the first nine months of 2001 reached 20.9 million tons, or 152 million barrels. This is 28.1 per cent more than in the corresponding period last year. The volume of oil products sold on the domestic market reached 4.4 million tons (32 million barrels) in the third quarter of 2001, which is 2 per cent more than in the third quarter last year, and exports of oil products went up 33.9 per cent to 2.7 million tons (about 20 million barrels). The press service reported that YUKOS put 71 new oil wells into operation in the third quarter of 2001 as compared to 103 oil wells in the third quarter of 2000.
