One troubling ingredient entering the picture will be Intel's move to include the graphics chip in the PII module. PII is expected to be about 1/2 of the qty. that Intel ships by around the middle of next year. Much of that product is likely to ship with their own graphics chip. With Intel owning about 85% of the PC market and a big chunk of that going to Intel manufactured graphics chips, the overall market will shrink by 20%-40%. That's an alarming development when 3D graphics is already said to be nearly "free". Having the largest market share, S3 has more to loose. If anyone has other information on how this scenario may shape up, I'd like to have your opinion.

S3 may not see $7, but I think the chances for good news coming out anytime soon are bleak.
