Ref <Some folks here have been in the semiconductor business for years. They know what it costs to manufacture a mature die on a mature process and what it costs to package it. The price is not hard to estimate. >

Here is my estimate of the incremental cost of the Celeron Coppermine Chip:
PACAKAGING - $5-8
TEST & ASSEMBLY- $1-2
DIE COST - $10-$16 [ Including Fab Depreciation]
or $5- $7 [excluding Depreciation.]

This is a mature product with minimal engineering support expense.

TOTAL INCREMENTAL COST - $11-$26

As long as Intel sells XBOX for more than $30, it definitely contributes to Intel's profits.

I am not going to be drawn into discussions of sources, links etc, and I am neither an Intel insider or have access to any confidential information.
