I'd be a lot happier to be a pacifist if there weren't so many people waiting to kick my butt!! I'm reasonably tolerant and understanding but there are limits and if things don't go well after repeated olive branches, then one sometimes has few options. But then, I'm an individual. I believe that countries can and should have more collective patience than individuals.
