This is a baseless generalization, vis-a-vis a computer vision application. AI programs run the gamut from data-mining of huge data sets (finding minerals, extracting financial trends, etc.) to robotic applications with a strong emphasis on distributed processing to neural nets with extremely localized computation to computer vision (based on image processing, hence matrix computations). Extrapolating to relative performance of Athlon over P4 is delusional. Get a grip. --Tim May
