I think the problem with a lot of these atmel type devices...You can get the things to work but you can't keep them working....they react to things like cold...and water....and when that sprinkler comes on at 3 in the morning...and the water freezes around that little microprocessor....yeah...that's a problem...

sure they only cost you about 29 bucks in hardware to make...maybe even 8 bucks if you bought them in bulk....but it's a problem....

You need some viral resistant hardware that stands the test of time...that absorbs...the shock of slamming your cell phone against the dashboard...when you stop GOING 80 MILES an hour because THAT dude just cut you off....If you know what i mean...

I think these microprocessor thingies are great...they are so cheap...HECK you can go from an idea to your brain...to a MAIL order prototype in about 30 days....delieved federal express to your home (ALL ONLINE)...probably for less than 100 bucks. UNBELIEVABLE.
