Hunan Launches Network For Digital TV, Radio June 18, 1997 (Changsha) -- The Hunan province in central China has launched a 700km-plus digital microwave network for TV and radio transmission, the second network of its kinds in the country. Jointly built by the province and a US investment company, the network is able to transmit 32 TV channels and 64 radio channels, as well as other information. The network provides access to local radio and cable TV programs to eight prefectures and cities in Hunan, including the capital city of Changsha, as well as Zhuzhou, Xiangtan and Yueyang.
