Last moment means insufficient time to change a Power Point slide. Which, I think you can agree, is a relatively short period of time. The decision was probably made the night before the presentation, if I were to take a guess.

"Intel probably got wind of AMD's potential design win, put together a marketing task force, and presented Microsoft with a better proposal. What's wrong with that?"

I never said there was nothing wrong with it. I am saying that the close timing of it all indicates more a pricing issue than anything else. You usually don't decide right before you make the grand announcement when there are other issues than pricing.
