Bin Laden may be in South Iran Mountain range near Persian Gulf just a hop across the water to Oman, UAE, and his father's mountain guerrilla homeland of Yemen on the Saudi Arabian Penisula. From there he will seek refuge in the River jungle-like Southern Sudan. Just as Iran does not see eye to eye with Bin Laden or Al Qaeda, except for a dislike of the US, there are factions, radical fundamentalist factions, in Iran that do not see eye to eye with the moderating Iranian government, which has improved a lot since the Ayatollahs died off or dropped out or were pushed out of total control and power in Northern Iran.
This is the danger, a civil war in Iran, again caused by the harboring of terrorists. Historically Iran was modernizing, do not forget this, as we do not need to punish the people for the few radical hate mongering ignorant illiterate Ayatollah and fundamentalists that are there and have now proven their inability to lead or govern Iran.
Capturing, and having a trial of these people is the best approach. Killing them will only make them martyrs and heroes to the ignorant mindless poverty stricken muslims led around by their abusing fundamentalist fanatics. Using military tribals also, will send a signal of weakness and fear. Let them have their ranting and raving Federal Trials, (which have a higher rate of conviction than militay tribunals anyway which have less than an 85% conviction rate). We are a strong nation, we can take the crap their lawyers will drag out at trial. We can afford to show an example of our higher moral ground, our higher culture that affords even the likes of them a real honest and fair jury trial, an example we want the rest of the world to follow.
We must LEAD if others are to FOLLOW. Then the terrorists can spend the rest of their lives in prison. No martyrs come from imprisonment, especially when a trial shows them to be the immoral hate mongers they are.
My guess is that the Israeli Secret Service MOSSAD could well capture these terrorists before we do. Whether you like what Israel does, at least its intelligence agency is intelligent. The Saudi Intelligence Service is not stupid either. This is a 3 way race, the first 2 will just assassinate the terrorists where they find them, and it could be left to wonder by many people if we did it, by all those terrorist wannabees out there. We do not need to give our enemies more recruitment material. Our race is to get there first, and use this as an example of true US justice, not US emotional revenge. The best revenge is living well. If the terrorists, however are armed or riot like at Masa Sharif then shoot them all, especially that traitor Walker Lindh, who as an American and traitor is worse than the Afghan warriors and equal to the Arab terrorists and Al Queda, and now want to cry like a baby to his parents and pull on our heart strings to let him "come home". As for the rest, we at least should have and give them a proper and fair treason and war crimes trial. Or we should tret them as POWs under the Geneva Convention. Would we not expect that much from our enemies? Is that not what makes us better than the Viet Cong? The Communists? The NAZI and Japanese War Criminals? The Terrorists? We did that much for the NAZIs and the Japanese War Criminals, who were as evil, like all these evil doers. Arafat, if he can not govern and can not lead should step aside, or be removed. Likewise, the Israeli government does not need to commit atrocities on the civilian palestinians, many who would like to be rid of these terrrorists also I am sure. They just have not learned yet that an eye for eye does not work, but they are all stuck in the old testament, maybe that is what makes a Christian nation better able to lead the world to peace. They will know we are Christians by our love....they will know the Al Qaeda and Taliban (Talib) and all terrorists by their hate.
