"The important thing I discovered is that the statement, "the LS-120
technology was developed by Iomega and sold to Compaq," which
has been repeated in this forum by me and others, is really not true.
At best, it's a gross oversimplification of the facts, and at worst, just
flat wrong. I'm a bit embarrassed at having repeated it without
checking it out."

Allen,

I see that Troy shaw has already corrected your misunderstanding in
his post #4209. But furthermore, I will add that Kim Edwards explicitely
stated a number of times that IOMG owned the patent on the LS120 technology
and sold it to 3M (I previously thought to Compag). Furthermore, I distinctly
remember that KE said during the CNBC interview a couple months ago that
IOMG STILL HAS THE RIGHT TO THE LS120. This stuck in my mind,
because it was one of the issue that I was very interested in - and I
rememer having posted this particular info here a while back. The implication,
of course, is that IOMG can make the LS120 or LS120-compatible if
they want to.

It would be nice if we can confirm officially with IOMG. The statement
I hear KE made concerning above, as well as several others questions/answers
were not included on the CNBC transcripts posted by Ken Marcus. I wondered
if Ken did not post the complete transcripts.
