There is another interesting piece to this puzzle:

suppose that in the near term cable modems are adopted (I heard
a report about an interactive TV system for 200-300 dollars).
Everybody gets on the internet and there is a huge jam
because of line sharing. enter DMT (see AMTX's web site).
They are pushing the cable modem component as well as
the phone component. Win win. (I doubled down at 14 and plan
to buy 2x more if it goes down to 10).
