There is a difference between official expressions and private utterances. People can do as they please, unless there is a church- state question involved. One might argue that they should take into account minority traditions, and, if persuasive, gain more exposure for those traditions. But there is no reason to force people. Instead, it is the business of each faith to promote itself, if it cares to. Now, in the case of official expressions, there is some reason for sensitivity. However, with the overwhelming majority of people still being Christian, Jewish, or brought up on holiday traditions from those sources, it makes sense that the majority should be somewhat favored. So far, the Supreme Court has allowed some use of traditional imagery, as long as it is primarily "cultural", like Santa Claus and Christmas trees. I think that is reasonable. So, I think you have a point in promoting some deference to minority traditions, but I think it is unreasonable to expect the majority not to have a proportionately greater impact......
