re reunion (aka reunification) tax: The present flow of funds west to east (to the former Democratic German republic) is still of the order of 1000 Billion DM / year and will stay at the comparable level for another, oh well, at least five years. On a personal note: after 'all the tricks and arrows of tax accounting fortune' my solidarity (official name) tax comes to 1260 DM. Anybody with critical thoughts about what those jokers in Germany are doing about recession should bear this fact in mind. dj
