"I'd be interested in knowing what problems you've heard of and from where… I'm considering getting a family member a system with this board and have heard nothing but good about it (and I know several people who have it). In the various hardware forums, I haven't heard anything about "problems" either, only lamenting its poor overclocking settings (which are not an issue for me)"

Fyo: Check this link out here at OCWorkbench... I realize this is primarily an overclock site.. but the problems listed here arent to do with people who overclock these boards.. and the forums are really good at listing them. (SPecifically, look for posts by "Mr Athlon". He seems to be the foremost expert on the topic at the site, and has listed the problems he has found).
It appears the problems occur on older revisions of the motherboard with Athlons at 1ghz or higher.. The problem is not as common with the XP, but occurrences have been found to happen. I believe ECS has been releasing newer board revisions that supposedly take care of this problem.. and I believe the revisions are named at this site.

I dont know the specific thread that first dealt with the problems found.. but take a scan thru the message titles and go back a few pages.. I am sure that stuff is in there.
