A Woodbridge teen-ager was charged Wednesday with the murder of a prominent biotechnology researcher.
Kyle Hulbert, 18, of Woodbridge, was arrested Tuesday in Millersville, Md., and is charged with the murder of Robert M. Schwartz, 57, of Hamilton.
Schwartz's body was discovered Monday by sheriff's deputies after concerned coworkers reported that Schwartz had failed to show up for work. An autopsy determined that Schwartz was stabbed to death at his residence, a secluded farmhouse.
Two others have been arrested in connection with Schwartz's death. Michael Pfohl, 21, and Katherine Inglis, 19, both of Haymarket, were arrested Wednesday by Manassas police during a traffic stop. The exact charges against Pfohl and Inglis are unclear.
Simpson would not discuss a motive for the murder, but said all three facing charges knew Schwartz's adult daughter and were seen in the vicinity of the home.
Schwartz worked at the Center for Innovative Technology in Herndon for! a! lmost 15 years and had served as executive director of research and development and university relations. He also worked on the first national online database of DNA sequence information.
