Albert, Re: [Prudential] Downgrading AMD to Sell from Hold based on our belief that current demand strength is more related to Intel P4 shortages rather than true demand for the Athlon XP.

Mosesmann must have confused cause and effect. AMD isn't enjoying high Athlon XP demand because Intel can't supply. Because there is strong demand for high performance professors driven by AMD's excellent performing Athlon XP Intel has a shortage -- they just can't manufacture enough P4s. Intel could supply the world demand for processors twice if they would produce PIIIs/Tualatins instead of P4s. But AMD forced them to accelerate their P4 ramp since P3 is just not competitive any more.
