I believe Bob will replace the T. Rowe Price New Asia fund with the Montgomery Emerging Asia fund when he makes his portfolio announcement in July.

The Montgomery Emerging Asia fund has been whipping the big boys (New Asia and Colonial Newport Tiger) since its recent introduction. It opened at the end of September, 1996..

I believe New Asia has kept up with the general benchmark for comparison but the performance disparity is compelling. New Asia YTD -.5%; Colonial Newport Tiger Z YTD +3.9%; Montgomery Emerging Asia YTD 29.2%.

Although the fund may by prospectus hold investments in Japan, they do not do so currently.

Josephine Jimenez and Brian Sudweeks, managers for the Montgomery Emerging Markets fund, also head this fund with the assistance of Angeline Ee and Frank Chiang acting as portflio managers. I believe Chiang did a stint at a Hong Kong based investment firm.

I am glad I sold half my New Asia position at the beginning of this year and replaced that portion with the Montgomery Emerging Asia fund.
