Hi Kerry, Thank you for the generous amount of time you've spent looking over the industry. Yes, if there were a "bargain" after the WTC and Pentagon attacks, it was very short lived and price/share seems to have eaten up the potential already.

Southwest Air may be the only airline I can find that seems to be reasonably consistent in earning a buck. Our own "local" airline Midwest Express did well for a while, but has faded from earlier glory.

So, maybe I'll wait until they improve their business models a bit. You mentioned trucking as well. Boy, I spent a lot of time looking at that group one time and it's hard to find any good business models there either.

A friend of mine looked at a possible internet business of "freight auction" recently. It looked like a heck of an interesting idea. Companies needing to move freight would post their cubes and weight and a time frame and carriers could bid on moving it. The advantage to both was theoretically quite good. If you were heading to Calif. from Chicago with half a load, you could log on and see if there's freight along the way you could pick up. For the less frequent shipper, one could possibly pick up good freight rates by "tailgating" on a load that's already headed in the right direction. Nationwide the truck fleet space utilization is something line 50%, so potentially there's quite a bit to be gained.

Thanks again,
Tom
