J, I really don't have any more info than what's been discussed around here. This is purely speculation, but I think the ADSL stocks drew some heavy interest here on the web and on the street mostly on the retail side. The high valuations drew interest from the 'shorts' (and I don't mean Jim by that, the real pros) and they have lots of connections. I am not saying this is what happened, but if the shorts felt like making a few calls and getting some of their side of the story out there, well they wouldn't hesitate to do it.

Let's face it, it didn't make sense for this stock to go from $14 to $36 in just 2 months without major developments. Unfortunately, by the time 'real news' in terms of products & NEC came out, it was already on a downslide and we know the results. I can't prove this, but the slide from $36 to roughly $20 was bound to happen especially with the negative publicity. I give credit for the slide from $20 to $13+ to Jim. I know he would object to this, but I am pretty sure that most of the sellers were people who are reading this site & MF. Each day that went by he convinced some to sell & the following day as the price dropped more bought the story and sold.

The fact is that the volume of trades are %90+ retail and not institutional (not funds). Yes, there are pros who are probably flipping this stock every day, but those are mostly traders having fun and not the 'funds' type who are buying & dumping.

As far as the stock being speculative... Sure it is... and on a down market for tech stocks, the speculative ones are the ones that get quickly dumped.

Am I worried? No! Why? That's a whole different story...:)
