The internet will help this treatment option become known, by potential patients. A friend's having a procedure done that she learned about via the Internet -- cheaper, MUCH less invasive, and far fewer side effects and complications. However, it isn't nearly as profitable for the docs, and so 80% aren't recommending it. However, women who find out about the treatment are dumping their docs for those who support this better option (that's what this friend is doing, btw). Knowledge is power.
