"Re: Intel's computer vision software is much more akin to conventional image processing projects

I'm sure it is.

But Artificial Intelligence programs - as the rest of the world views the use of the term - is not image processing. That's why image processing is called image processing, rather than Artificial Intelligence. "

You're quite hopeless. It's as Paul has pointed out many times (though no longer here, as he has been excluded from your Maniban-controlled swamp): when challenged, you change the subject.

Others should not let "Dan3" get away with these deceptions. It was Dan3 who made the claim that Intel's computer vision software would run better on Athlons than on P4s because of the linked list structure of LISP. I pointed out that Open CV is primarily image processing, not AI of any real sort. (I doubt that Open CV has any LISP code at all in it...if it does, by some slight chance, no more than a tiny fraction of the overall code.)

Now Dan3 is arguing about AI programs, not Intel's software.

(BTW, a claim that LISP runs better on Athlons than on P4s would need support from benchmarks before I would even get interested in the subject. Running the Gabriel suite of Common LISP and CLOS benchmarks would be a start. None of them are computer vision benchmarks, by the way.)

But Dan3 is doing what he always does when he is challenged: claiming he meant something else. Or just throwing chaff up in the air.
