in the first steelers-rams super bowl, there were some interesting calls, especially considering the point spread.

it looked 'whacked.'

i had a friend who played football at our high school, and a couple of years later we were talking and he said he didn't see the game but that he was in a restaurant right after the game and some pro lineman walked in; i think he was an ex-husky.

the pro lineman told my friend that he thought the game was fixed.

now i heard this years after i'd watched the game myself and thought the same thing (fixed) as the game had unfolded.

in any case it could very well be that the winner of this ravens-steelers game will be the afc representative in the super bowl.

it could be miami or oakland.

oakland's run defense is porous right now. they benched safety pope and are trying out another guy in order to try and shore up the run defense. i'm not sure if safety though is a key link in run defense. i suppose strong safeties should run support well but isn't run defense about the front 7? who knows? maybe this new safety _will_ actually affect the run defense.

miami looks pretty good.

holmgren was getting slammed by some callers on the local radio show the other day. it's as though he's always one step behind, or just a little bit out of control on his decisions. he really needs a win this week, and dallas isn't going to be easy.

i would have gone with alexander. actually, to get both players on the field i would have made one a wideout and had the other start at back. he could have had alexander run wind sprints (deep routes) as a wr all day. i think that alexander has the speed to beat even good corners once in awhile.

man i want to see this offense throw some bombs. this jackson wr is the real deal. he is so good that he reads defenses instantaneously and gets open, even if it's not his assigned route. the thing is to get a qb who can see that and get the ball to him. i'll say it again; this jackson wr is gooood...

people say all receivers out of florida are good pros.

that wr laverneous coles on the jets..... the one who took the rap for the guy on cleveland - you know, when they were both in college... he was a good draft pick out of florida state.
